CELL PHONE ABUSE?

People on their cell phone while driving their car, or shall I say "attempting" to drive while talking on their blasted cell - that drives me CRAZY! No longer can people walk and chew bubble gum at the same time, apparently.

At the grocery store, this young mother is walking down the aisle while talking on her cell with her 5 children in tow. She's not watching them. She's not listening to them. She's too busy with her cell phone conversation. The lady working the register actually speaks to the lady with the cell surgically attached to her head and, of course, gets ignored, because the cell conversation is more important. I watch this woman and never does she even look at her children or the clerk. She continues on with her cell conversation as she runs her credit card through and ignores everything else going on around her.

Do you ever feel like smacking someone upside the head? Well, I certainly do. I see these people on their cells, while checking out at the grocery store; even going through the drive-thru at the fast food restaurants and they actually have the gall to scream out, "Just wait!" or they hold up a finger as if to motion "one minute." Were these people raised by wolves? No. Wolves teach their pups better manners.

And the whole bluetooth thingy. Half the time, you can't tell if they are talking to you, talking through their bluetooth, or talking to themselves. Are they bonkers or are they on their bluetooth?

Do I have a cell phone? Well, yes. I believe I got one while I was pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago, at the constant begging and pleading of my dad. I didn't really think I needed one. I don't use it a lot. It's mostly for emergencies, business calls and the occasional personal call. I can think of a million things I'd rather do than talk on the phone and most of my family and friends know this. I also don't take all of my calls. Most of the time, when I'm in a public place, I reject the call and it forwards to voicemail.

Wow, you know, people would really lose it if all the cell towers went down, now wouldn't they? Oh my! What would they do with their time?! Would they actually have to carry on conversations with other people standing right beside them? What would become of the world? Probably become a nicer, kinder, more caring world.

What do you think?
